Around the 10th to 15th century castles evolved intricate designs and defenses. The most early castle design was the Bailey castle. The Bailey castle was made on top of a high hill called a motte. Bailey castles were usually made of wood and sometimes stone and had a strong defense in the 10th century. However, enemies thought of more different ways to siege Bailey castles, fire was the most effective siege weapon to Bailey castles. The motte that was supporting the Bailey castle on top was made artificially or just naturally, it is hard to determine both of them without excavation. The bailey castle had tall thick wooden pikes binned together as walls. The sharp pikes acted as a sort of barb wire as it was difficult to go over the wall as enemies would be impaled.
I think that the Japanese were more focused on expression and honor, where Europeans were focused on having fun and a blood thirst for power, but the Feudal Japanese also had a blood thirst for power, but like everyone on the earth everyone has a lust for power.
