Motives
People's motives when sieging and building castles were straight forward. Building a castle established status power and nobility. Sieging castles was to obtain power and status, but also to claim working peasants, trading protection for food. One of the most famous sieges was the siege of Constantinople.
The siege of Constantinople occurred in the 15th century between the Roman Empire and the Ottoman Empire. The Roman Empire was in control of Constantinople until the Ottoman Empire launched a full scale siege against the Romans. The siege started on Friday the 9th in April and finished on the 29th of May according to the calendar present at that time.

Medieval Castles were made mostly out of thick stone walls and types of traps. Medieval Europe castles were built for defense and battles, and long lasting food supplies. Both castles had similarities such as areas to keep prisoners, areas to train soldiers, living quarters and large feasting areas for celebrations and entertainment, and rooms for long lasting food supplies. A downside of of medieval castle is that walls could be climbed over and archers were exposed on battlements.
I think Japan were more complex and decorative with their castles, but were slightly more vulnerable because of Feudal Japans castles were mostly made out of wood, and their love for their country in bright colors and complex architecture. Feudal Japanese castles could easily be set alight by archers using fire with their arrows. Feudal Japanese castles i think were for mostly living comfort more then battles.
The differences between the European castles and Japanese castles is that European castles had slits for the defenders to shoot through and battlements that offered more safety for the defenders. Japanese castles had walls that were smoothed to make the walls harder to climb for attackers, and sometimes mazes leading into the castle to confuse attackers.I think that the Japanese were more focused on expression and honor, where Europeans were focused on having fun and a blood thirst for power, but the Feudal Japanese also had a blood thirst for power, but like everyone on the earth everyone has a lust for power.
Sieges and war affected the people around them. War made peasants work harder to supply food for their kings and knights. During sieges many would die and suffer, while everything around them turned to ruins. Because of all the large populated areas with peasants and the large well known castles built to protect them, power was fought over and caused chaos.Medieval castles i think were more sturdy.
